Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Taberna Meloxeira, a hidden gem nestled in the picturesque coastal town of O Grove, Pontevedra. Located at Carretera San Vicente do Mar 1100, this enchanting restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience that will take your taste buds on a delightful journey through the sea. As you step inside, the charm of the place is evident, accentuated with views that perfectly frame the gorgeous landscape around you.

At Taberna Meloxeira, the focus is on crafting unforgettable seafood meals paired with an exceptional selection of wines. Review after review, guests have raved about the superb quality of the dishes and the attentive service that makes each visit feel special. As customer Sabas Casas passionately shares, if you seek a majestic seafood meal in a breathtaking setting, this is the place to be. You truly do feel the heart of the seaside culture in every bite.

Despite some critiques about the English menu availability and portion sizes—like that of Martin S.—many patrons applaud the restaurant's flexibility, especially for solo diners. The option for half portions allows for a tailored dining experience, ensuring that each morsel you try is a taste of quality over quantity. The delectable fideuá de chocos, small spaghetti infused with the rich flavor of black ink from chipirones, is a must-try for anyone looking to savor authentic Galician cuisine.

Another culinary highlight is the torrija caliente with helado, a delightful dessert that adds a sweet ending to your meal while allowing you to linger savoring the last sips of your wine. As Olga Vechirko notes, the restaurant's ambiance transforms into a magical spot for watching the sunset during the summer months, making it ideal for a leisurely lunch or dinner.

While securing a reservation in advance is highly recommended—especially during peak season—the option to enjoy beverages at their bar terrace ensures that you can still bask in the spectacular view even if a table isn’t available. This blend of quality food, stunning vistas, and superb service makes Taberna Meloxeira a culinary destination worth experiencing.

So, whether you seek a romantic evening, a celebratory gathering, or simply a taste of the sea, make sure to include Taberna Meloxeira on your itinerary. Keep your dining expectations high, and don’t forget to make a reservation! Your palate will thank you.

If you really want to experience a wonderful seafood meal with the best wines, you NEED to come to the Meloxeira. Besides food and drinks, the service is gorgeous. You will love it!!

They don't have English menu! The food is good but te portions are very small and overpriced. 12€ for portion wok vegetables in size of taps is quite pricey. On the end with bread, vino and dessert I was still little hungry.

We will try for the table below next time...as there will be a next time!

Fabulous restaurant. As I was eating alone I was very happy with their flexibility to offer half portions for some dishes. The quality of the food was superb and super attentive staff. My only caution is if not Spanish n make sure your order is clear. The server and I had an embarrassing event but he was very gracious. Highly recommended.

Extremely good restaurant with delicious high quality food and great view During the summer is the perfect place to have lunch, dine or to watch the sunset. Highly recommended! Reservation in advance is required(at least in the summer), I got the feeling that even with not good weather there is no chance of getting a table without a reservation. The menu is short but complete. Recommend to tasty: - fideuá de chocos (small spaghetti with black inc of the chipperones) - torrija caliente with helado To get postre gets double longer time than to wait for main course so take your time to enjoy your wine and ask a bit in advance. The place has open terrace and closed part. All tables have sea view! Before the restaurant is bar terrace, so in case you will not get the table to eat, at least you will enjoy your drinks :)
